Shorthorn bulls have been at the centre of our herd replacement strategy for forty years. A consistent source of maternal traits and good temperament underpinning our breeding herd.

The Beef Shorthorn has been transformed in the last twenty years with Upsall genetics, an engine for positive change.

With a third Upsall sire now in the Stagehall herd we have secured maternal attributes, good legs, feet and grazing ability. The Turton bred bulls however have added value to our system improving udder and teat confirmation and transforming Shorthorn steers, from a by-product of our heifer replacement programme, into a high performance beef animal with a premium market. Steer performance which now rivals the best Aberdeen Angus genetics.
